Together, they provide complete safety solutions—from training and certification to on-site support, including Confined Space Rescue specialists—while covering all staffing requirements.

Our client is currently seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis in Sudbury. The ideal candidate will have experience within the mining industry, along with a strong understanding of health and safety practices and procedures specific to mining operations. They will be comfortable working in surface mining environments and capable of supporting site-based health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Post-secondary education or training in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a health and safety role
• Safety designations such as CRSP, CHSC, or NCSO, or currently working toward one considered an asset
• Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification, First Aid, CPR, and AED considered assets
• Working at Heights certification required
• Valid G-class driver’s license required

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site inspections and recommend safety improvements
• Support supervisors in monitoring and maintaining safety compliance
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of health and safety policies
• Ensure all activities comply with company policies and industry regulations
• Assist with or lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations
• Provide safety training and orientation to employees
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments
• Attend safety meetings and maintain required documentation
• Manage and monitor use of safety equipment and supplies
• Analyze safety data and recommend action where needed
• Perform related administrative tasks
• Participate in health and safety initiatives and projects

Skills and Experience:

• Background in mining safety roles
• Strong reporting, documentation, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Proficient with safety management systems and Microsoft Office
